Great plantscaping starts with putting the right plant in the right place.
We consider light, airflow, available space, scale and how an environment is used before recommending a planting solution. Plants are given the room they need to grow and are placed where they’ll thrive and make the greatest impact, rather than simply filling gaps. For spaces where living plants aren’t practical, we can also recommend clever alternatives.

Behind every installation is decades of hands-on horticultural experience.  We grow and care for thousands of plants ourselves, giving us an intimate understanding of how different species perform in real-world commercial environments. We assess your space, recommend the right combination of plants and containers, then supply, install and provide ongoing plant maintenance. The result is a healthier, better-looking plantscape without creating another job for your team to manage.

Countless hours of fastidious attention go into nurturing tens of thousands of hardy specimen plants to ready them for their forever homes. NURTURING SINCE 1990

Live Décor has been growing, installing and caring for indoor plants since 1990.

Today, we provide commercial indoor plant hire, plantscape design and ongoing plant maintenance for businesses across Auckland, Whangārei and Northland. Our nursery is based in rural Whangārei, surrounded by mature native forest, subtropical gardens and natural springs. Across approximately 3,000 square metres of greenhouses, we grow and care for more than 40,000 plants, many fed with collected rainwater and spring water. Our plants are grown in a practical, low-tech environment that is partly exposed to natural conditions. Rather than being pampered in perfectly controlled surroundings, they develop into hardy, resilient specimens better prepared for life in offices, hospitality venues, retail spaces and other commercial environments. 

Live Décor began in 1990 as Living Décor Hire Plants, founded by Brian and Laurine Jack. In 2020, the business was acquired by plant growers and collectors Sam Clode and Dale Spencer and evolved into Live Décor, bringing a contemporary approach to commercial plant hire while building on decades of horticultural knowledge and experience. Today, Live Décor combines horticulture, design and genuine ongoing care to create commercial plantscapes that look great, perform well and are easy to live with.
